Quercus sp.

nominal concept

common name: oak
family: Fagaceae
Identified 2010-12-18 by F. Todd Lasseigne

Identification remarks: Buds look like Q. coccinea. Leaves are intermediate. Acorns are also intermediate in that they are shaped like Q. palustris (cup and acorn) but appear a bit too large and also the cup appears to curve inward at its apex as it meets the nut.
